How PDF Calm handles files, browser storage, dependencies and privacy choices.

• Files are read locally through the browser File API. They are not sent to PDF Calm.
• The interface is designed for files up to 500 MB and documents up to 2,000 pages. Device memory can impose a lower practical limit.
• No. Your browser reads the selected file and creates the result in browser memory. PDF Calm does not provide a user-file upload endpoint.

Limits and privacy

No. Local compression may rebuild pages as images. Inspect forms, links, bookmarks and small text before using the result.
